About Robyn
Robyn Avery Rennick has been telling stories since she could talk but she didn’t discover the art of storytelling until the 90’s when she went to her first storytelling festival. “I had been writing and reading stories to seniors in a retirement center, but when I heard the storytellers, and the freedom that being away from the book gave them, I was hooked.
“Telling stories, not reading, gives you so much freedom of expression and you get to take your audience along with you in the story.” Robyn’s been telling stories at churches, festivals, libraries and schools ever since.
“People usually stop reading or telling stories to their children around age 6 or 7 but a good story draws every one of every age in. I mainly tell stories to grownups and kids 8 years and up. It’s wonderful to see audiences from kids to great grandparents get lost in a story.”
“I am so excited about my first story being turned into a book. I have been telling Roxy the Fox for over 15 years. So many that have heard it have encouraged me to turn it into a book form so more people can experience this wonderful story. It is one that has become a tradition in my family and friends at Christmas. My hope is that it will become your family tradition as well.”
Robyn lives on the Forgotten Coast of Florida on Cape San Blas with her 2 schnauzers, Jax and Korben, and her adopted sister and partner in many adventures, Patricia Hardman. She is an avid pot gardener – that’s another story.
